Beyond-the-ordinary pillow brand, Floof Living, enlisted Avex with a vision of setting up a resonating eCommerce presence that reflects the brand ethos “The Floof Difference” - embodying their product’s sumptuous fabrics, superior fill, and meticulous construction.
The client approached Avex with extremely complex and unique design and animation requirements created by their branding partner. Our main goal at Avex was to translate the client’s vision as closely as possible while ensuring best development practices weren’t being compromised.

Avex worked closely with the Floof team to refine their UX functionality requirements in alignment with the brand vision. Our Shopify Plus solution architects and developers set off to build a modern site experience on Shopify Plus that features advanced product filters, search, and navigation functionalities guiding the site visitors seamlessly through the brand’s different curated ready-to-go sets and collections.
Shopify Plus Development and System Integrations
Complex business demands call for consequential technical strategies. With the degree of customization required to execute the brand’s experience-tailoring requirements, as well as the ease of technical integrations and unmatched scalability, Shopify Plus ticked all the boxes as the ideal eCommerce platform for Floof Living to kick off its digital presence on.
We then integrated multiple solution providers including Accentuate Custom Fields, Klaviyo and Loop Returns to lay the foundation for content authoring, facilitate internal operations, and match the brand with purpose-built content solutions.
Aesthetic-driven Product Utility
As we developed the Floof Living site, we cross-referenced data, technology, design, and content to put Floof’s target audience at the center of every decision made. We engineered a high-performing storefront that generates sales through differentiation and logic.
Following extensive technical discovery, our development team built a multi-level navigation system in which users can shop by collection, color, and/or style. To unlock the full potential of product discovery on Floof’s site even further, the navigation was coupled with advanced and comprehensive filters that allowed users to find products on basis of the desired theme, be it museum pop, bad maximalist, beach club, serene luxe, etc.
Supporting Operations with Technical Logic
In the wake of our learning that Floof’s catalog features individual pillows that were also bundled up in different pillow sets, we created two different product templates that are tied back with one another. We then facilitated inventory tracking by integrating those templates with the Bundles apps - ensuring the inventory of individual pillows was being adjusted based on sales from the pillow sets.
Setting the Foundation for Exploration and Possibility
In the digital landscape, personalization and service are synonymous with best-in-class customer experience. While we leveraged the Perzonalization App to create onsite experiences tailored to each visitor's preferences and tastes, we also wanted to make sure the brand’s efforts in extending unrivaled services are met. To support the customers’ decision journey, Floof Living provided 5 free pillow-set swatches which we created a custom cart logic for - calculating the total due based on the number of swatches being added to the cart.
As the brand was just launching in the digital space, it was crucial for us to communicate a brand identity and visual language that could live across multiple touchpoints. The dynamism of the relationship Avex had with the client as well as our team’s flexibility in accommodating brand needs set an excellent foundation for us to build an elevated brand experience that not only lives up to Floof’s expectations but also reflects the quality behind their product and story behind their brand.
