Welcome to Avex in 2020

We are extremely happy to announce a really special launch. Something that has been a long time in the making, our new agency website.

First, a little history

Avex technically started in 2012, however, I operated as a freelancer for years before making our first hire. During that time, my “portfolio” website became our “agency” website. Over the last 5 years of being an agency, this will be the 3rd redesign of our agency website. Each time we’ve launched a new website, we’ve become more focused on our service offerings, more minimal in our approach to design, and more detailed with our case studies. Why did we launch the website?

We often receive praise about our website, but we felt it was dated and needed to reflect our brand. Our primary reason for the revamp was to better convey our service offerings, as well as showcase new client work. From a technology perspective, we grew tired of using Wordpress. It felt so heavy, slow, vulnerable and clunky. We build amazing things for brands, so why not use cutting edge tech for our agency? That is why we utilized Contentful as a headless CMS, while using React/Gatsby for the front end. This allows for better control over content, a much faster experience and the chance to play around with some cool tech.

Our agency has grown over the last year or two. We’ve become very focused on ecommerce, Shopify Plus and supporting merchants. As we continue to grow we will continue to innovate, design and build great things. Both for our clients and our agency.
